What is a guarantor loan?
You borrow with someone you trust backing you up. They don't lend you money — they agree to cover the repayments if you can't.
Who can be my guarantor?
Usually a friend or family member aged 18 to 60, with their own income, who isn't financially dependent on you. They'll apply and be assessed in their own right.
Will applying affect my credit score?
The initial eligibility check is a soft search and won't affect your score. A full application involves a hard search, which is recorded on your file.
Can my guarantor change their mind?
Yes — they can decline any time before signing, and there's a 14-day cooling-off period after they sign.
